Susan Marenco was born, raised and educated in San Francisco, California. She lived in Copenhagen, Denmark for more than 20 years where she worked for Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen as a editor and usability designer specializing in linguistic usability. Susan is an active member of PETA and enjoys playing the ukelele for her two golden retrievers.

She has recently returned to Northern California and continues to write for Egmont Creative Center Copenhagen. In addition to her work for Disney she has also adapted teleplays and screenplays and edited books for Egmont for the following TV series, films and computer applications.

PINGU the BAFTA award-winning British-Swiss stop-motion claymation television series.  Susan has adapted eight Pingu books for Egmont.


Jakers! The Adventures of Pigley Winks is a BBC animated TV   series that chronicles the boyhood adventures of Piggley Winks, an anthropomorphic pig from Ireland. Susan has adapted seven   Jakers books for Egmont.

Susan has adapted the screenplay for the Danish film Hugo Jungledyret 3 into an Egmont book for the Scandinavian market.  A Film A/S produced this 3rd film in a series by the Danish author about Hugo, a “jungle animal” who gets into to trouble when he is captured by humans.




For Mattel’s Barbie I CAN BE website, Susan has written dialog for Barbie and her friends. She has also written 45-page Barbie books for Mattel through Egmont Creative Center Copenhagen including, Barbie ICB Computer Engineer, Barbie ICB Painter, Barbie ICB Martial Artist, Barbie ICB Tennis Player, Barbie ICB Lifeguard, Barbie ICB Artist and Barbie ICB Actress. In 2011 Turner CN Enterprises in Germany contracted with Egmont Creative to create magazine content for the Zoobles toyline, mischievous characters based on Bakugan by Spin Master. Susan wrote 15 of these stories including, Gladys Can Dance, Seaweed Soup and Leodore the Great as well as a writers style guide for the project.  For more about Zoobles go to
